Owning our trauma Blog by Jaime Mackie from The Tribe

The topic of trauma continues to surface in a theme lately (this is from my experience)

From this lifetime or from lineage passed down, trauma can come from moments that don’t seem to overly impact us or on the flip side can impact us based on a larger event that is a mostly verbal or physical act, either way there is never any comparison of how this feels for us, it is pretty intense regardless of who you are or what happened

Our bodies are great at doing their best to suppress it and hide it away, until a trigger happens and emotions that weren’t fully processed resurface.

Often the person who created the trauma is unaware of the full effect and it isn’t anything personal yet we seem to perceive it as that.

Following this, most of the time the outcome we are searching for from what has happen will never occur, it is a loop of self sabotage as it is not reality.

Therefore, it then becomes our responsibility to stop searching outside of ourselves for closure, and to stop the blame game.

As although we experience trauma, we are in control of our power over our own lives and experience, how we choose to react and how much we allow this to repeat cycles of familiarity that our nervous system craves… however this isn’t serving in a healthy way.

If there is a situation, a certain personality type or person, an emotion that comes up and makes you loose your sense of self, this is a clue, people are mirrors for our own growth.

We can release the build up to allow space to cope, we can re parent ourselves to reframe, to feel safe and to continue to show up and lead the way.
Jaime MackieOur ability to move forward is linked to our ability to let go, I believe that time doesn’t heal wounds if anything it makes the lessons from the universe for us on a bigger scale.

Notice, without judgement, breathe, if you can’t cope in the moment temporarily leave, communicate boundaries along the way , always reflect as running away or escaping reality isn’t going to solve life’s problems.

We are all doing our best, and I don’t feel that anyone is a bad person.

With love ❤️
