It’s been a while since I uploaded a Kōrero MiriMiri: Healing Talk, so it’s a deep privilege to share part 1 of my latest conversation with Dr Harold Turk ♡
Harold is a Maori trained Healer & Bodyworker, Private Coach, Doctor of Chiropractic and someone I always enjoy talking with. Harold has been practicing bodywork in one form or another for more than 20 years and in that time has accumulated much insight and wisdom.
In this conversation we weave around some nuances of the practice, I love the descriptions and way I get to visualise the work through our conversation. You also get see Harold turn the tables on me and we talk about my conflict with having white skin and being Māori (it’s been a lifetime journey!). We also touch on many of the nuances of this work from a business perspective. We also touch on the integration of sharing about the work publically through our authenticity.
I feel grateful he took the time to share it with us and to provide us with the insight of how this work translates in other cultures. For me, I continue to be amazed at the power of RomiRomi and the way people of all cultures respond to it. In this video we connect with Harold’s journey into Māori healing, the importance of healing ourselves as part of our path of being a healing practitioner and some of the nuances of the bodywork.
The photo is of Harold getting some work done by Manu Korewha ~ one of my early teachers and the person from who I received my first RomiRomi session.
The second part of our conversation will come out next Tuesday, let me know what you think!
Whakamanatia, in our sovereign uprising, Gabrielle ♡
